Who Should Attend?
For people who wish to work in remote areas and may be required to administer first aid as an appointed first aid person. Fulfills the requirements of Emergency First Aid Procedures in BS8454.
Aim
To provide delegates with the knowledge and practical experience to provide emergency first aid at height. This course meets the requirements for “appointed person” first aid.

- One Rescuer CPR.
- Choking Management.
- Control of Bleeding.
- Shock Management.
- Injury Assessment.
- Fractures & Dislocations.
- Hypothermia.
- Heat Exhaustion.
- Suspension Trauma.
Knowledge
By the end of this course a candidate will be able to administration of first aid safely, promptly and effectively to:
- a casualty who is unconscious and/or in seizure;
- a casualty who is wounded or bleeding and/or in shock;
- a casualty who is choking, or who has difficulty breathing due to a crush injury or cervical spine injury;
- a casualty who is thought to have sustained a fracture;
- a casualty who is thought to have sustained a spinal injury;
- a casualty who is suffering from suspension trauma;
- administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation promptly and effectively;
- provision of appropriate first aid for minor injuries.
Assessment Method
The trainer will assess competence during practical work. Multiple choice written test with discussion.
Candidate Ratio
1:6 maximum.
