Following the review by the Health and Safety Executive of the L117 Approved Code of Practice for Rider Operated Lift Trucks in 2012, the Accrediting Bodies Association (Workplace Transport) was established.
During consultation over the review of L117, it was decided that the accrediting bodies themselves would take back the management of the fork lift truck training accreditation scheme and that the HSE would henceforth take an advisory role.
Registration
As part of the ABA’s Code of Practice, there is a mandatory requirement for each accrediting body (including the Association’s four founding members AITT, RTITB, NPORS and ITTSAR) to hold a national register of all operators trained under their accreditation umbrella. Subsequently, all ABA training providers are required to notify the Association of training delivered under the accreditation and are charged for each delegate registration.
We wanted to communicate this change and the reasoning behind it to our customers and make them aware that for any courses booked as of 1st January 2015, this charge will be passed on at the rate of ÂŁ4.50 per delegate per course.
