Training in Tier 4

After interpreting the Government’s rules for Tier 4 in England, training is still permitted to go ahead when it is for the purpose of work or obtaining work, as per the Government’s guidance:

Education or training – meaning education related to a formal curriculum or training that relates to work or obtaining work.

The Government’s overarching message is to stay at home, but where training is for the purposes of work or obtaining work, then it is permitted to go ahead, but should be delayed in the first instance. Training providers and employers should consider whether the training is essential or not and postpone if deemed non-essential.

Travelling into and from a Tier 4 area is allowed for educational and work purposes.
